I am always surprised when I hear about French dressing. For example in Switzerland, a French dressing is a white dressing made with cream. But you know I have never had that while I was living in France. The recipe you will discover below is from my point of view the traditional French dressing. I always had this dressing in my salad at my two grandma and at my mum place as well when she was not buying some awful pre-made dressing in the supermarket.
I am not saying that I do not like other dressings. I love playing with different kind of vinegar with raspberries, shallots or something else. Balsamic vinegar tastes wonderful as well with some honey. Olive oil is not the only oil I use even if you can think so reading my blog. Camellia and colza oil are also delicious.
Just to say that the dressing below is for me the basic French vinaigrette dressing that I usually serve with a green or mixed salad. I like it really strong so if it is too strong for your taste do not hesitate to add more olive oil.
If you like this dressing serve it with boiled artichokes, just amazing.
