
Weeks that I see on social networks, great pictures of delicious apple pies with fantastic flavours. So I wanted to make mine, a version I enjoyed and pleased also my friends.


Apple pie, caramel and roasted hazelnut
Ingredients
Roasted hazelnuts
- 20 gr whole hazelnuts
Pear & apple sauce
- 2 pears
- 1 apple
Almond shortbread crust
- 250 gr flour
- 5 gr maizena cornflour
- 50 gr almond powder
- 40 gr sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 120 gr butter diced
- 40 gr sugar
- 1 egg
Pie
- 3 apples
Caramel
- 100 gr sugar
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
Pear & apple sauce
- Peel apple and pears. Cut and cook them in a little bit of water until they are ready. Blend or crush with a fork. Put aside.
Roasted hazelnuts
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Place hazelnuts on a baking tray and roast for 15 minutes. Peel and mix.
Almond shortbread crust
- Mix flour, cornflour, almond powder, sugar and salt. Add diced butter and the egg. Knead until you get a smooth dough.
- Spread dough in a baking circle. Let stand approximately 1 hour in the refrigerator if the dough is too difficult to work.
- Prick with a fork. Spread pear and apple sauce.
- Peel and cut apples in thin slices. Arrange the apples on top of the pie.
- In a small saucepan, heat sugar with 2 tablespoons of water. Do not mix. At best turn the pan slightly. Wait for the sugar to become liquid and color, turn into a caramel, then pour over the pie.
- Sprinkle with some roasted hazelnuts.
- Preheat oven to 200°C and bake for approximately 30 minutes.
